The Assessment team acts as the front door for Children’s Social Care and carries out assessment and short-term work. We work alongside and directly with children, young people and their families. Our ‘front door’ colleagues know good beginnings and have a better chance of making good endings.
The team predominantly undertakes child in need assessments (Single Assessments) and child protection assessments (Section 47’s) using a range of child and adult tools to enhance our analyses, to measure change, to problem solve and design and plan short, medium and long-term interventions. The team is fast paced, the work is immensely rich and varies day to day.

Key responsibilities…
To work as part of a team within Children’s Social Care providing services for children and young people and their parents/carers, ensuring children’s views are heard.
You will be required to hold cases and be responsible for identified tasks including supervising contact sessions as well as work on other worker's cases as directed.
The purpose of this role is to support families in ensuring that children can remain safely within their family environment, or where necessary, to help maintain stable placements. This support will include both practical assistance and structured, planned interventions.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 14th August 2025.
Interviews will be conducted in person, providing candidates with the chance to personally meet the team and experience our work environment.
