Crynodeb
RCCG Light House Assembly, London, is a thriving parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, committed to raising disciples, building strong families, and fostering spiritual growth through sound doctrine, prayer, and community fellowship.
We are currently seeking a spirit-led and biblically sound Pastor or Minister who can provide dedicated pastoral care and leadership to a growing community of believers, particularly those of Yoruba descent, while also serving the wider church body.
This role is not solely about language. It is about connecting meaningfully with the heart and heritage of Yoruba Christians, both old and young, with a deep sensitivity to their spiritual and cultural realities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide pastoral care, teaching, and spiritual guidance with particular sensitivity to Yoruba cultural contexts.
• Lead or support Yoruba fellowship services, prayer meetings, and ministry activities (language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory).
• Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, conviction, and sound doctrine.
• Assist the Senior Pastor and leadership team in planning and executing church programmes and ministry goals.
• Support congregants in counselling, visitation, family life, and life events (e.g., weddings, child dedications, bereavement care).
• Help strengthen the bridge between the older Yoruba generation and the younger generation raised in the UK.
Essential Criteria
• A born-again Christian with a consistent devotional life and spiritual maturity.
• Proven pastoral or ministerial experience (ideally 5 years or more).
• Strong teaching and preaching skills, grounded in the Bible and aligned with RCCG’s doctrine, vision and mission statements.
• A heart for people, intercession, and spiritual mentorship.
• Sensitivity and understanding of Yoruba cultural values and traditions.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English (Yoruba language proficiency is an advantage but not a strict requirement).
Desirable Qualities
• Ordination within RCCG or similar Pentecostal/Evangelical denomination.
• Experience in counselling, discipleship, or family ministry.
• Willingness to adapt to a multicultural and intergenerational church setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and pastoral ethics (training can be provided).
