FTE Salary: Up to £39,495.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Actual Salary: Up to £31,596.00
Contract Type: Permanent, All year
Working Hours: 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers as well, and would be able to offer a high level of support for any practitioner new to teaching. There may be an opportunity to participate in the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) scheme that provides funding to support FE providers to recruit and provide early career support to those with the relevant knowledge and/or industry experience to retrain as FE teachers.

We are looking for a dynamic A Level Maths Teacher to join our thriving A Level team and inspire our Sixth Form students. There may also be opportunities to teach Core Maths within the department.

A Level Maths and Further Maths is one of the most popular subjects in our Sixth Form, with two Year 12 and two Year 13 groups for Maths and a Year 1 and Year 2 group for Further Maths. As part of our maths department, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Beyond the classroom, our maths students benefit from access to our maths mentor who supports learners and runs workshops for our learners. Our teaching staff also have the opportunity contribute to a range of extra-curricular activities for our students which includes the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, talks and our Sixth Form Academies. Additionally, as an A Level tutor, you will support students holistically, guiding them through both their academic journey and personal development through group tutorials and one-on-one sessions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
-Deliver engaging and thought-provoking A Level Maths and Further Maths lessons that inspire curiosity and ambition.
-Take the lead in shaping the A Level Maths and Further Maths curriculum, ensuring students make exceptional progress.
-Work alongside passionate educators and industry experts to enrich students’ learning experiences and develop innovative teaching strategies.
-Support students’ academic and personal growth, helping them prepare for higher education, apprenticeships, and career opportunities.
-Contribute to our collaborative Sixth Form team, sharing best practices and strategies that enhance learning outcomes.
-Encourage a culture of innovation, ensuring students develop transferable skills that make them stand out to future employers.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
-A motivated and inspiring educator with experience working with learners in an educational setting.
-A degree in Mathematics or maths related subject or equivalent, with a strong subject knowledge.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
-A commitment to continuous professional development, including obtaining a full teaching qualification (PGCE in post-16 education or equivalent).
