Job title: Welsh speaking Personal assistant
Location: Cribyn/lampeter
Hours of work: up to 8 hrs per week term time 14 hours per week during school holidays by arrangement with the employer, after school and weekends included.
Rate of pay £14.50 per hour.
We are looking for a responsible, patient, and caring person to support and assist a 16-year-old with severe learning difficulties to be able to take up the role as soon as possible, once checks are completed.
The candidate is expected to help develop and extend the individual's extracurricular interests and help promote positive social behaviour.
The candidate is expected to use part of the working hours to develop a program of weekly activities, jointly working in discussion with the young person to ensure routine and structure in their daily life.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential.
The ability to drive and take the individual to activities and classes regularly will be essential.
Main Duties:
• Assist them to complete activities of interest independent of her family such as swimming/horse-riding, gaming, trips out or other stimulating activities as they arise.
• Provide a level of social stimulation and engage with the service user to explore the community.
• Always ensure the safety of the client whilst on duty.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.
Personal Specification:
• Active, Reliable, Caring, honest, responsible, and patient, with a good sense of humour
• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
• Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills, fluent Welsh speaker

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
