This post is based within the Advice Shop where the successful candidate will work to promote income maximisation and alleviate poverty through advice and advocacy in the areas of welfare benefits/appeals, money/debt, housing and energy advice.
The post holder will work with people who have enduring drug and alcohol addictions. This role will provide a targeted service to this group, working alongside a range of community planning partners to ensure that the customer is at the centre of a high-quality advice service.
This role will aim to promote active referrals for customers to a range of holistic support services, and by working with the Health & Social Care Partnership to improve awareness of the impacts of drug and alcohol addictions on finances and strengthen referral pathways for appropriate support.
The successful candidate will also assist in the development of this service and help with targeted campaigns to this group through the delivery of talks, training and presentations.
Experience giving money/debt, benefits, energy or housing advice is essential. Good research and analytical skills and experience in organising events and delivering talks and presentations are desirable.
