Amber Family has four residential family centres, located in Southport, Merseyside. We work in partnership with parents over the age of 16 to assess parenting capacity and undertake 13-week parenting assessments. At the end of the assessment period, recommendations are made to assist Local Authorities with future care planning.
We have part time vacancies working as a Family Support Worker; shifts will include waking nights and weekend days or nights.
At Amber Family, we’re looking for;
* Someone who can reliably and accurately record events in our daily logs, which form an important part of the final assessment we provide. These entries must be accurate and objective, so outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A good level of written English is required.
* Someone who will be confident in supporting our parents in attending various appointments, groups or activities with our parents.
*Someone who will keep on top of changes to current NHS Guidelines or changes to legislation or best practice.
As our service is so unique, previous experience in a similar setting is not necessary. You will be given the highest calibre of training and support until you feel confident within your role. All we require from you is to have a caring nature and be comfortable holding, feeding and changing a baby. You will need to be able to understand that some of our parents present with challenges and will be mindful and supportive of this.
