An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and knowledgeable housing professionals.
The Housing Investment Service is responsible for the management and delivery of responsive and cyclical maintenance, specialist & compliance works, planned improvement works and refurbishment schemes to a stock of 24,000 domestic properties, garages and associated buildings and surroundings. The Service is responsible for an annual revenue maintenance budget of c£27m and an annual capital improvement programme in excess of c£55m.
The Job
We are looking to appoint two newly created roles of Project Officer to develop projects to provide value for money solutions and support efficient and effective operational delivery. This will include developing and implementing business cases, project plans and leading numerous complex workstreams, involving various stakeholders across neighbourhoods & housing and wider support services.
Core tasks include:-
Analysis and development of relevant data and information to inform strategic direction and decision making.
Work effectively with internal and external partners/contractors to establish and deliver joined-up outcomes.
To communicate project details to a wide variety of stakeholders ensuring understanding and facilitating the engagement of all interested parties.
Line Management of Asset Officers – HR/ Learning and Development
Embedding relevant legislation into project deliverables, for example the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, Awaab’s Law Regulations 2025, Decent Homes Standard 2006
Prepare and present reports to senior officers and members
You will have excellent strategic awareness, together with persuasion, influencing and organisational skills in order to deliver the challenging requirements of the role.
The post holder must be flexible to ensure the operational needs of the Council are met. This includes the undertaking of duties of a similar nature and responsibility as and when required, throughout various workplaces in the Council.
There are two full-time permanent roles, 37 hours per week.
