We're looking for a Regional Commercial Director to join our successful construction team working across the Gloucester, Bristol and Oxford region.



Location: Gloucester, Bristol or Oxford.

Contract: Permanent - Full Time



Responsibilities

As the Regional Commercial Director for our Gloucester, Bristol and Oxford business, you will be a member of the regions Senior Leadership team, and report to the Regional Director. Within the role, you will provide strategic, visible and directive leadership and support across the business and other selected projects as required.

The role will perform Business Unit wide duties defined by the Commercial Director or Managing Director. Key to this will be developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the region and then developing and managing the commercial activities to ensure that the strategy is a successfully delivered

Key duties and responsibilities and attributes will include, but not be limited to (full Job Description attached below):



-Accountable for leading, managing and motivating the commercial team as well as cross functional teams including procurement and administration.

-Be a talent leader, able to identify, grow and progress fast potential talent to build long-term organisational capability for the region and group as a whole

-Drive and maintain commercial standards in line with both Group and Construction standards

-Energising leadership able to make things happen and creative and a curious problem solver

-Overall accountability for setting plans, controls, and interventions to maximize profit and cash across the offices

-A highly visible and active role to ensure we select the right work, have commercially dynamic bid strategies, and provide robust challenge throughout the process

-Lead and challenge a robust approach to ensuring the ‘net' cost is accurate and benchmarked

-Lead and drive creativity and plans to maximise margin and cash

-A deep contractual knowledge and the ability to negotiate favourable terms successfully. Liaise directly with the Contract Officers, review and agree strategy for agreement/resolution of contract terms and negotiate directly where required. Play a pivotal role in ensuring that Corporate Governance, risk management and technical compliance standards are at the core of what we do and are rigorously applied.



Who are we looking for?

To be considered for the role, we're looking for applicants with the following skills and attributes:



-A proven track record of leading a large portfolio of construction projects with strong front-end experience across a range of market sectors

-High creativity and focus for driving cash performance, margin and opportunity

-Ability to challenge senior management robustly and to work to demanding standards & timescales

-Ability to lead the avoidance of disputes and lead the resolution of complex ones should they arise

-Ability to design and implement strategic change

-Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

-To be customer focussed (internal and external customers)

-Professionally qualified to degree level with MRICS/ CIOB or equivalent

-Ability to establish and build teams with appropriate skills, and to recruit, train, retain.
