An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Core CAMHS team in North Derbyshire!
We are seeking an enthusiastic psychology graduate to support working with children and young people with mental health difficulties. The post holder must: Be a Psychology Graduate, 2:1 or above. Have proven excellent communication skills and IT skills . The post holder will be based within CAMHS at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital (with the possibility of some work based at our other Core CAMHS Bases in Chesterfield town centre and Buxton and/or some remote-working, in line with Service demands).
The post holder will support the qualified clinicians with specialist assessments and psychological interventions with children and young people with mental health difficulties, and their families - with the work managed and supervised closely by a Clinical Psychologist.. They will also have an important service-wide role with outcome monitoring, and opportunities to contribute to service projects, audits and evaluations.
N.D. CAMHS is a friendly and supportive service which consists of a number of professionals from a variety of backgrounds, all skilled in working with children and young people with mental health issues. There are a number of different teams within the service that Core CAMHS works closely with.
Whilst you care for our young people and families, in turn we recognise the importance of caring for you – clinical supervision, career, personal development and health and well-being support are all core to our service. The CAMHS service also has a range of internal CPD activities and we currently run a valued CPD skills group for Assistant Psychologists monthly.
This career opportunity will allow you to develop particular experiences in child and adolescent mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodiversity, and routine outcome measures. We have good rates of success with our Assistants gaining a university place on Clinical Psychology Doctorates.
To assist with the provision of psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for young people in CAMHS.
To provide a key role, under supervision, in the championing, implementing, monitoring, collecting, analysis and reporting of outcome measures within CAMHS.
To contribute to relevant evaluation, audit and project work, including carrying out relevant literature reviews, preparing databases and writing reports.
