A leading SEMH specialist provision in London, is looking for a passionate and qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join their multi-disciplinary team from August 2025.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to work in a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting where your role is vital in helping young people find their voice - often for the first time. You'll support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, many of whom also present with Autism, ADHD, speech and communication difficulties, and complex trauma backgrounds.
Working closely with teachers, TAs, and pastoral staff, you'll deliver targeted interventions, lead assessments, and provide professional input into EHCP reviews and behaviour support plans. You'll also have the opportunity to develop group programmes, advise on communication-friendly classrooms, and guide staff on best practice strategies for speech and language development.
This is a team that values integrity, collaboration, and professional growth. You'll be offered strong peer support, access to CPD, and a well-compensated salary package that reflects your expertise and impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver individual and group SaLT interventions for pupils with SEMH and communication needs
• Complete assessments and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
• Provide staff training and guidance on communication strategies
• Collaborate with a therapeutic and teaching team to support student development
• Contribute to a whole-school, trauma-informed approach
• Keep accurate records in line with clinical and school policies
• Engage in professional development and reflective practice
• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH, Autism or SLCN
• Understanding of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience in schools or similar settings is desirable but not essential
