The Acute Medical Unit is a fast pace unit with 46 beds that provides urgent and emergency care for patients who are medically unwell, requiring rapid assessment, planning and treatment for their immediate needs.

Within our department, we run an Same day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC), providing urgent care and treatment to patients who do not require a hospital admission. We work closely with the Emergency Department and medical wards to ensure a safe and effective patient journey.

The Emergency Village is undergoing exciting change and development to ensure a seamless delivery of emergency care and we are looking for registered nurses who are keen to progress in their career with at least two years’ experience to help achieve our vision.

Provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Senior Sister/Charge nurse in driving quality care provision forward

Be responsible for standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area in partnership with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse

Provide clear clinical leadership to staff, deputising for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in her/his absence

Promote and support flow within area the emergency floor and ensure all staff actively participates in discharging/transferring patients to more appropriate settings
