Summary

Applicants are invited to apply for an ST1 Trust Doctor post in General Medicine across our Acute site William Harvey Hospital. This post will be fixed term for 12 months.

Within the General and Specialist Medicine Care group is Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Health Care of Older People, Neurology, Renal, Rheumatology, and respiratory departments.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and have completed the UK foundation programme or equivalent.






The appointee will be expected to cover for
absence of colleagues (including on call cover) at
short notice, e.g. sickness. Cover outside the Rota
requiring extra hours of work will be paid as
additional work at nationally agreed rates and will
be coordinated to be compliant with the relevant
legislation.
It is expected that the post holder will play an
active part in the training of junior medical staff.
They will also be expected to supervise, educate
and assist medical students.
The post holder should take an active part in
clinical audit, journal club and departmental
teaching sessions. Regular appraisals will occur
and the post holder will be expected to take part
in CPD.
