Crynodeb
We have a new job opportunity for Processing and Field worker on a fixed term basis. This is a hands on-role which involves working across different areas of the business including our hi-tech stripping and packing lines and under taking some duties relating to harvest and crop husbandry in the field.
As a result an element of this role will include working outdoors so you need to be happy to work when required in a range of weather conditions. The role will also require manual working particularly in the field.
This is a fixed term position from August to March although there maybe opportunity for permanent work following this.
- Undertakes a range of routine day-to-day tasks including washing, grading, trimming and packing and stacking
- Operates plant and equipment designed to wash and pack fresh produce
- Operates a pallet truck within the packaging and cold store areas to ensure the efficient and effective movement of produce to meet operational needs
- Ensures that products are packed, labelled and stored correctly.
- Responsible for escalating problems with plant, machinery or product quality to a line leader, in a timely and proactive manner
- Operates a clean as you go regime within the workplace
- Observes food hygiene, food safety and product quality regulations at all times
Field based tasks
- Undertakes a range of routine day-to-day tasks including picking, cutting and packing of marketable quality stock within the timeframes given, ensuring good communication with the rig and team
- Field operations including such tasks as weeding and planting
Previous experience in a farm based or factory processing role would be beneficial although not essential as full training will be given. All necessary personal protective equipment will be provided.
Full time contract - 40 hours per week
Overtime - 1.25%
Shifts will normally be 07.30 - 4.00 pm but this could vary depending on weather and customer requirements. Shifts may involve weekend working.
