Exciting Opportunity: Occupational Therapist – Critical Care, King’s Mill Hospital!
Are you a passionate and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist ready to make a real impact? We’re thrilled to offer a brand-new role within our Critical Care team at King’s Mill Hospital, part of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a unique opportunity to pioneer and shape the Occupational Therapy service in Critical Care—an evolving area that’s vital to patient recovery and rehabilitation. You’ll be at the forefront of developing innovative approaches to care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support some of our most complex patients.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Motivated and innovative, with a drive to lead change.
• Passionate about rehabilitation, especially in the management of delirium and complex needs in intensive care.
• A collaborative team player, eager to contribute to service development and patient-centred care.
Join us in this exciting phase of growth and help us deliver outstanding care where it’s needed most!
The role will involve conducting individualised assessments of patients, addressing needs such as: Hand dexterity, Feeding, Personal care, Splinting, Cognitive assessments, Anxiety management, Pacing.
You will be expected to work independently, providing high quality, advanced therapeutic assessments, managing patients with diverse presentations, and complex physical and psychological problems. Participating in working across both ICU/HDU.
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
