Job Opportunity: Personal Assistant (PA) for Leisure and Community Activities
I’m looking to employ a reliable, enthusiastic, and compassionate Personal Assistant (PA) to support a young adult with complex needs to access leisure activities in the community. This is a second PA
role, working alongside another carer already in post.
About the role:
Supporting the individual to go swimming with another PA — you must be comfortable in the water and able to provide support in the pool. Swimming sessions are most likely to take place on weekdays.
- Attending music events (including live music in pubs), farm shows, visits to farms, and other community outings — these are more likely to take place on weekends or in the evenings.
- Supporting attendance at S.E.N. discos in Harrogate.
- Working as part of a small, friendly team to enable the individual to enjoy their interests and participate safely and fully in their chosen activities.
Kind, patient, and calm under pressure.
- Physically fit and able to provide support in the water.
- Willing to learn about the individual’s communication style and sensory needs.
- Comfortable working alongside another PA or carer.
Experience supporting someone with learning disabilities, autism, or complex health needs.
Pay and hours:
£15.69 per hour, paid employment.
- Minimum of 6 hours per week, with potential for up to 12 hours per week.
- Possibility of additional hours during holiday periods.
