Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Grounds Maintenance to work all year round. We are looking for a reliable, conscientious gardener to work as part of the grounds maintenance team with an eye for detail who can bring a bit of magic to our gardens so that students, staff and visitors can enjoy them at their best! You will report to the Business Manager and there will be a modest budget for new planting.
You will be responsible for helping to keep the lawns mowed and in good order, lawn edges tidy, prune the shrubs as appropriate, re-plant some of the borders and pots as appropriate, keep weeds under control and take pride in the site.
St Rose's provision is from 2 to 25 years; a nursery, a non-maintained special school for students from 5 to 19 and St Martin’s an independent specialist college for students from 19 to 25. Our students have physical and sensory disabilities, learning and communication difficulties and complex health needs.
St Rose’s is an inspiring, stimulating and rewarding place to work, where new challenges abound. We have a strong commitment to supporting staff in continuing their professional development, and we offer many ways to achieve this. Our staff enjoy a strong sense of community and professional support, as well as a lively and cheerful environment to work in. In addition, there are many other benefits for staff including a central Stroud location with easy access to buses and trains, on-site parking, attractive grounds, low-cost lunches and subsidised nursery places.
Candidates will require an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references prior to taking up the post. Applications should be made by application form only. CV’s will not be accepted.St Rose’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment.
