Due to the success of the Artificial Intelligence & Computer Engineering (AICE), we have built a brand-new student Teaching laboratory due to launch before the new 2025/2026 Academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) Technical Team as the AICE Laboratory Supervisor. Initially a 1-year Fixed Term contract with a view to extending as permanent depending on sustained student numbers. Secondments will be considered from internal applicants.
As the AICE Laboratory Supervisor you will be responsible to plan, sustain, and organise the Technical delivery of core undergraduate and taught undergraduate specialist AICE Laboratory sessions associated with all ECS taught degrees, and, to support the School’s strategic growth of teaching facilities. In this role you will manage the day-to-day running of ECS’s state of the art AICE computing suite laboratory, resources, PC refresh cycle and provide specialist Technical support and advice to the School’s practical educational activities.
You must hold a relevant degree qualification in Computer Science or nearest equivalent, with proven experience to use standard and specialist computing systems, object orientated and procedural programming languages. You must have substantial experience in a relevant technical field, with proven experience of successfully planning work activities.
Successful delivery in this role will significantly contribute to protecting the capital investment in ECS teaching facilities and to deliver the maximum educational value from them.
