An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Rota Co-ordinator within the Emergency Department at Ipswich Hospital.

The role centres around the effective management of doctor rotas, maintaining the new electronic rota management system and assisting in any redesign of daily rotas as well as managing communications groups in relation to rota cover. This role will work closely with the operations team, medical team and support staff.

Our CDG is a busy department supported by a dedicated and engaged team. The nature of this post is fast paced and therefore candidates need to demonstrate flexibility in their work, with an ability to adapt to situations as they arise. There is also a need to problem solve on a regular basis.

This post would suit someone with focused attention to detail, distinct organisation skills and the ability be agile with their workload and manage change.

You will be well supported in their journey from induction, to encouraging personal development.
• Support on the implementation of new rota electronic system in Emergency Care
• Responsible for the coordination of Doctors rotas, compiling and ensuring rotas are distributed daily to all relevant parties
• Assist in the design/redesign of the daily rotas with the consultant in charge to ensure that these rotas display shift information in the most accessible manner and can be used to obtain statistical information for use in trust planning.
• Liaise and discuss with consultants future staffing needs relating to the rota, taking account of the skill mix. Assisting in devising alternatives when suitable doctors are unable to be found to fill vacant shifts. Making sure that the right doctor is in the right place at the right time on the rota.
• Upload registrars’ master rota on a monthly basis, checking Doctors templates with consultant in charge and notifying registrar of any changes in their shift patterns.
• Help organise shift patterns for new doctors until they can be incorporated into the main rota.
