Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled steel fixer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural steel and metal framework, with the ability to work in various environments, including commercial and industrial settings. This role requires physical stamina and the capability to perform heavy lifting, as well as proficiency with hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and repair structural steel frameworks for buildings and other structures.
Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld materials as needed.
Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project specifications are met.
Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials safely on-site.
Conduct inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Operate machinery such as cranes or hoists for moving heavy materials when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools relevant to ironworking tasks.
Experience with masonry techniques is an advantage.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) consistently throughout the workday.
Familiarity with roofing systems is a plus.
Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to safety protocols on-site.

Pay: £19.00-£21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
