As Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Senior River Restoration Officer, you will empower and inspire people from diverse communities across Gwent to take positive action to protect, manage and restore freshwater ecosystems across Gwent. To achieve this, you will work alongside partners and stakeholders to coordinate and promote citizen science and to implement nature-based solutions within the river catchments.
Working with the Head of Nature Based Solutions, the postholder will help continue to be instrumental in setting the direction for the future growth and development of our Freshwater NBS work at Gwent Wildlife Trust. Supported by colleagues across the Nature Based Solutions and Nature Recovery Teams, the Senior River Restoration Officer will join a high performing and passionate team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and knowledgeable communicator, passionate about enabling communities to take action to improve river catchments and to reverse the nature and climate emergencies.
To be successful in this role, you will be knowledgeable about river ecology, hydrology, monitoring and restoration, and enjoy engaging with and inspiring a wide range of people.
