We are seeking a positive person to join our dedicated and fun team.
If you don't mind getting messy, being a little silly, exploring and allowing the children to take the lead......with NO PLANNING and very limited paperwork, then Footsteps could be the place for you. We use tapestry to complete observations, and each room is provided with iPads to complete these on.
We concentrate on giving our children the best possible start to their education, putting care, love and passion into everything we do. We are more than just a nursery, we are a family.
There are always opportunities to progress with your career at Footsteps as we always recruit within. So if you are looking for senior roles, key holder, SENCo, Designated lead or room leader, and want to reach your full potential, then come and join our amazing team.
Minimum level 3 or equivalent qualification in childcare. A qualification is necessary to fulfil this role.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and education to children in a nursery setting.
Develop and implement engaging early childhood education programs tailored to individual needs.
Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes children's emotional and social development.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and well-being.
Lead and manage a team of childcare staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in childcare. We believe in a healthy work life balance, there is no taking work home, we give you time out of the room to complete essential paperwork. There are no monthly staff meetings, but we do this by having regular 1:1 or group meetings within working hours. Any required training such as safeguarding freshers and first aid are all paid for and any hours that are used in non working hours are returned to you.
Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, Down's Syndrome, or speech and language needs
A good understanding of the EYFS framework and a play-based learning approach
Patience, consistency, and strong relationship-building skills with young children
We have a qualified mental first aider to support all staff's mental wellbeing, who checks in every 6 weeks or is always there when needed.
We often hold team bonding events, which are all paid for and we are always doing something different from laser zone, mini golf, darts to dancing so there is always something for everyone. "A team that plays together stays together".
