About the Role
As an Event Steward, you'll be the face of The Open – providing first-class service, support & safety for players, spectators & staff. This high-profile sporting event attracts fans worldwide & your professionalism ensures a smooth, memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities
~ Welcome & direct spectators, players, VIPs, volunteers & officials.
~ Enforce event policies: ticket checks, code of conduct & crowd control.
~ Provide wayfinding: course directions, amenities & viewing areas.
~ Monitor spectator behavior, identify & escalate safety or medical issues.
~ Assist with emergency procedures & liaise with security, medical & event teams.
~ Support course presentations: ensuring presentation areas remain tidy & accessible.
~ Patrol spectator zones: enforcing clear paths & restricted zones.
~ Aid with contestant movement: guiding players, caddies & officials between locations.
~ Handle basic inquiries regarding schedules, facilities & tournament info.
~ Participate in steward briefings, training sessions & post-event debriefs.
