All applicants must be legally eligible to work in the UK by the start of employment as Look Ahead are not able to offer sponsorship.

As a Specialist Support Worker at Look Ahead, you'll bring either enhanced experience or a relevant higher qualification to the role. You'll be supporting young people aged 18-25, helping them recover, gain independence, and build the skills they need for the future. Our approach is all about empowerment, self-advocacy, and genuine co-production with the young people we support.

Oaklands & St Kilda's is made up of two newly refurbished six-bedroom homes, located close to each other in Ealing, West London. We work with up to 12 young people at a time, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Many of the young people joining us are moving on from hospital, stepping down from more intensive placements, or transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

We place a strong emphasis on participation and co-production. Young people are encouraged to make decisions about their care, engage in partnership meetings, and take part in activities that build skills and confidence - whether that's cooking, budgeting, managing medication, or accessing education and work opportunities.

As a Specialist Support Worker, you'll work with a small group of young people, supporting them to set and achieve their own goals, develop meaningful relationships, and gain independence. You'll offer a flexible, person-centred approach that responds to each individual's needs, helping them move forward positively in their recovery journey.

If you have a genuine interest in the mental health needs of young people and want to play an active role in supporting their recovery, this could be the perfect role for you. We're looking for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome challenges, understands the impact of trauma, and values working in a creative, collaborative team. If you want to make a real difference in a trauma-informed, recovery-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.

The Specialist Support Worker role involves early shifts (8:00-16:00) and late shifts (14:00-22:00) throughout the week, including some weekends each month.
