Supported by the three Curriculum Heads and a Gas Centre Co-ordinator, you will have oversight and accountability for the curriculum development, performance and operational delivery.
This is an exciting period of growth and development for the Directorate, with developments of a new campus and associated curriculum on the Sizewell C site, bold plans to further grow and develop the existing provision to enhance our offer of ‘green’ technologies in Construction, Technology and Motor Vehicle Engineering through a new Sustainability Centre. The successful applicant will play a key role leading on curriculum planning, including the long-term design of an innovative class based and work-based learning curriculum, as well as a requirement to work on the development of new facilities and the reconfiguration of existing facilities.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will pro-actively lead and manage the Directorate to deliver an exceptional learner experience.
You will therefore need to be able to demonstrate:
• Strategic vision with the ability to translate to operational outputs and impact;
• Inspirational and motivational leadership qualities;
• Expertise in the curriculum areas of the role with experience of working with young people aged 16+;
• Ability to build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies;
• Creative, innovative and solution focused approaches, which deliver an exceptional learner experience and learner outcomes.
You should also hold a relevant degree or professional qualification, Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent alongside a Teaching qualification at Level 5. Ideally you will also hold a professional management qualification.
This post is predominantly based at Suffolk New College Ipswich Campus. However, Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site and the Directorate has provision across all College sites, therefore you will be required to work at and travel between campuses. A relocation support package will be available for the right candidate, if re-locating from outside the area.
