This role presents an exceptional opportunity for aspiring digital professionals to launch their careers within the dynamic Cloud and Infrastructure Teams. Under the mentorship of seasoned Team Leads, you will immerse yourself in a variety of infrastructure-related tasks, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in both cloud and on-premises environments. This journey will not only enhance your technical skills but also foster continuous personal and professional growth.

As an apprentice, you will embark on a meticulously crafted development plan aimed at unlocking your full potential and transforming you into a confident and proficient engineer. Alongside this practical experience, you will pursue a BSc in Computing (Software Engineering) at the University of Wales Trinity St David's, Swansea campus through the Apprenticeship programme, ensuring a robust academic foundation to complement your on-the-job training. The fully funded degree course is taught on a day release on Mondays during Term time.

Main duties of the job
Act as the primary point of contact for service users, providing efficient and high-quality administrative support to the Core Services teams within the Cloud and Infrastructure department.

Assist the operational teams by delivering comprehensive operational infrastructure services, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure systems as required.

Adopt a proactive approach to effectively support the infrastructure teams.

This position is fixed-term for 48 months.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
Educated to Level 3 (e.g. A Level standard, National diploma or higher) or possess the equivalent level of experience.
Desirable criteria
Knowledge of Cloud and Infrastructure systems and procedures.
Experience
Essential criteria
Experience of Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and a good knowledge of information systems (including databases).
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable criteria
Welsh language skills are desirable, levels 1 or above in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.
