Location: Ideally based around the M4/M5 corridor, with regular travel to offices in Swindon and Taunton

About the Role
An established groundworks and civil engineering contractor is seeking a proactive and committed Health and Safety Advisor to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to take a hands-on role in shaping and maintaining a strong safety culture across multiple sites and offices.
Safety is central to everything we do from the way our projects are delivered to how we care for our workforce. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact and ensuring high standards are not only met but consistently exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures
• Develop, implement, and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to operatives and subcontractors
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; compile detailed reports with actionable recommendations
• Provide on-site and remote support for teams facing health and safety challenges
• Keep up to date with legislative changes and ensure company policies remain current
• Promote and maintain a positive safety-first culture across all teams
What We're Looking For
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential)
• Previous experience in a similar health and safety role, ideally within construction or groundworks
• Strong knowledge of current health and safety regulations and industry best practice
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels
• Practical, solutions-focused approach to managing health and safety issues
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
