The Service has strong links with Ancora House, and the trust has close research links with the University of Liverpool. The service also works very closely with locality ED community teams within the CAMHS teams within CWP and Merseyside. The main aim of the work is to reduce and prevent hospital admission to either a paediatric ward, tier 4 CAMHS unit or a specialist eating disorder unit.

We are based at Ancora House (Countess of Chester Hospital site) which is an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service, consisting of 26 beds, split across two wards: Coral and Indigo.
The Assistant Psychologist will assist the Clinical Psychologists and the multi-disciplinary staff in the care and treatment of adolescents with eating disorders and supporting their families/carers. All work to be undertaken will be under supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
The role will involve supporting and enhancing the psychological care of service users, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions (individual and group) under clinical supervision.
The role will also include development of our day unit programme and facility.
Additional aspects of the role will include clinical administration, audit, and data collection.
Applicants are required to have achieved a degree in psychology which confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society.
