This role supports the launch of a new school kitchen. Initial induction and training will take place at an alternate location.
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality food for students, while supporting the Operations and on-site catering teams to meet agreed standards, budgets, and targets.
You’ll help train kitchen teams, including kitchen managers, to ensure consistent service across the contract. Strong leadership and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and students are key to success.
The Role
Maintain high food standards in line with approved menus and dietary requirements.
Manage portion control and minimise food waste to support cost efficiency.
Monitor and improve customer satisfaction through regular feedback and service reviews.
Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, hygiene regulations, and risk assessments.
Support site management in delivering consistent, high-quality service.
Engage regularly with clients and customers to evaluate and enhance service standards.
Adopt a hands-on, proactive approach to strengthen relationships with schools, clients, and customers, ensuring a more customer-focused experience at site level.
About You
Experience as a Kitchen Manager in education catering, or potential to progress from a Catering Assistant role with further training and development.
Ability to travel independently across sites within the contract.
Strong understanding of school catering operations, with excellent food preparation and cooking skills.
Sound knowledge of health and safety practices and accident prevention.
Basic understanding of profit and loss and its impact on operations.
Effective communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, administrative, and organisational abilities
