We have an exciting opportunity for an Regional Operations Director (Development Post) to join Active Care Group in our North Region.

As a Regional Operations Manager at Active Care Group, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a group of services within your designated region or division. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be accountable for service excellence across clinical and operational quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, workforce leadership, and cultural development.

You will manage and coach a group of Registered Managers, ensuring their services deliver outstanding person-centred care, sustained occupancy, and a high-performing, behaviours-led workforce.

The post holder will also hold regulator registration for service/s within the location. The post holder will be required to identify and coordinate the commissioning of new services as appropriate.

This is a development role, you will discuss, identify, and agree with the Managing Director and L&D department the learning support package that will accompany the post. This role will have a smaller portfolio of services. The post holder will also receive mentorship from an existing and experienced Operations Director.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure each service is led by a suitably experienced and appropriate Registered Manager who maintains active registration with the relevant regulatory body, where appropriate (such as CQC, Care Inspectorate or Ofsted). Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and timely submission of required notifications to regulatory bodies and external agencies.
  • Ensure the Registered Managers are always inspection ready, focusing on fanatical attention
  • to detail (FAD) and that when rated nothing less than perfection is acceptable.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge of all ACG Standard Operating Procedures
  • (SOP) and ensure that all processes are adhered to and regularly monitored to ensure compliance.
  • Use PowerBI reports and all available quality data to carry out regular meetings with the team and identify areas of improvement always looking for new and improved ways of working as well as celebrating when progress is made.
  • Conduct regular sites visits to assess quality, verify data accuracy from service reports, PowerBI analytics, and qualitative insights, ensuring alignment with operational realities. Implement necessary corrective actions as required.

What you'll have:

  • Nursing or other clinical qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CQC, Ofsted, CIS), quality assurance, and safeguarding.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, deliver against targets, and drive performance.
  • Coaching leadership style with the ability to develop and empower others.
  • Highly developed communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and data-literate with the ability to draw meaningful insights from digital tools.
  • Flexible, proactive, and resilient in managing change and complexity.

Experience:

  • 35 years of clinical experience and minimum of 2 years as a Registered Manager with a health or social care setting.
  • Experience with mental health services, behavioural health systems, or community-based care is highly desirable.
  • Experience of leading Regional in regulated, multi-site, and complex environments.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with regulatory bodies (i.e. CQC, CIS)
  • Experience of managing performance where concerns about individual practice arise
  • Experience of working in a constantly changing environment
  • Good understanding of national context and agenda as well local issues.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance
