Job Purpose
Reporting to the Facilities Manager (FM), the Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in residential accommodation areas and associated pupil spaces. This includes regular housekeeping duties such as cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and communal areas.

The accommodation consists of approximately 60+ residents occupying one- or two-person rooms across several corridors and annexes within a larger residential building.

Working Arrangements
Housekeepers are assigned to specific residential units but may be required to support housekeeping tasks in other units as operational needs arise. The role involves working collaboratively with designated staff who will help prioritise day-to-day tasks and may issue reasonable variations to duties based on current conditions and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning bedrooms, including vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and cleaning wash hand basins.
Maintaining hygienic and presentable communal spaces, such as corridors and shared bathrooms.
Using extendable dusters for hard-to-reach areas and ensuring a wholesome and safe environment.
Identifying and reporting damages, defects, or unsafe practices promptly.
Supporting laundry operations and assisting with occasional administrative tasks as directed.

Pastoral Support
While contact with residents is minimal, the Housekeeper plays a discreet role in maintaining a welcoming, stable environment. They are expected to observe and report any welfare concerns sensitively to the appropriate staff members.

Requirements

A commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Good observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively and follow established routines and protocols.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the role.

Additional Information
This position requires a professional and trustworthy individual who can work independently while being part of a wider team dedicated to the wellbeing and comfort of residents.
