Summary
- Being responsible for a large group of children in a designated age group in the Nursery.
- Overseeing the planning and resourcing within designated area of the Nursery of a stimulating environment which is age appropriate, meets the children’s individual needs and facilitates autonomous learning enabling all children to maximize their full potential.
- Responsible to ensure a safe, healthy and secure environment is provided for children.
-Overseeing key children’s progress and liaison with children’s parents and other team members in planning to meet the children’s needs.
-Overseeing the running of the room effectively on a daily basis alongside your team, according to company policies and procedures.
-Supervising Nursery Practitioners, Assistants and Students, in their practice.
-To be a positive role model for staff, students and children.
-Providing feedback to the Management on any issues relating to the Nursery day/ your room/your children, ensuring they are knowledgeable of any challenges you are facing where the children/parents are concerned.
-Taking an active roll in meetings, promoting and supporting teamwork in decisions.
-Responsible for Health and Safety within your room alongside colleagues.
-Mentoring new staff and helping them to fit into the Nursery.
-To participate in regular Parents’ evenings securing excellent parent partnerships
-To have a complete grasp of all paperwork, planning and organization within your room.
-To provide a positive working environment for all in your room, keeping it organized, safe, and controlled at all times.
-To oversee all children and parent transitional movements. (paperwork, settling in, moving up).
Person Specification
-Minimum level 3 or equivalent childcare qualification.
-Have four years nursery experience, preferably in designated age range.
-To be able to work effectively as part of a team.
-Good organizational skills.
-Good communication skills.
-Friendly, flexible approach.
-Commitment to continuous professional development of Higher Education.
