Your new company
You will be joining an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Derby. This multi-accredited principal contractor has a strong pipeline of work across multiple industries, delivering projects valued at up to £20m for high-profile clients, and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office with the option for flexible working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets and tender documents
- Managing project finances, including cost planning, forecasting and reporting
- Conducting valuations, variations and final accounts
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring financial efficiency
- Liaising with clients and subcontractors to ensure contractual compliance
- Providing advice on contractual claims and procurement strategies
- Supporting delivery teams with commercial and contractual guidance
- Ensuring compliance with HSE regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within the civil engineering industry
- Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence.
