STUDENT UNION

Volunteering and Community Coordinator (80% FTE)

(Ref: BU03801)

Salary: £26,942 - £29,959 p.a. pro rata (Grade 5)

Applications are invited for the above permanent, part time post, working in the Students' Union (Undeb Bangor).

Undeb Bangor is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and organised individual to coordinate and develop our volunteering and community offer. You’ll play a vital role in supporting students to lead impactful, inclusive, and meaningful volunteering projects that benefit both Bangor University students and the wider community.
As Volunteering and Community Coordinator, you’ll be educated to 2 AS Levels or 1 A Level or NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject area. You'll work alongside students, staff, and external partners to grow and support a diverse range of student led volunteering and community initiatives.

We’re looking for someone who has experience supporting volunteers or working in community/voluntary settings. You must be organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple projects and be able to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with a wide range of people. You should have an understanding of the importance of student development and inclusion and be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as reasonably possible.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. If applicants are not able to speak / write in Welsh at present, there are many opportunities to learn if the successful candidate wishes to do so.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Applications will also be considered to carry out this role on a job share basis.

Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.

Informal enquiries can be made by contacting: Rob Samuel, Membership
Development Manager, email: rob.samuel@undebbangor.com, tel: 01248 38651.

Closing date for applications: 03 August 2025

Committed To Equal Opportunities.
