Summary
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Type of work: permanent
Salary: £40000 to £55000 per annum
We are now seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design engineer to work for a bespoke manufacturing company based in Gloucester. The role is to ensure that engineering drawings are produced in line with technical and commercial requirements.
Job Description:
• To design, detail and develop equipment using Solid Works
• To produce proposal drawings for customers as part of the quotation process.
• Ensure all documentation is correctly updated, referenced and stored for easy
• reference.
• Strive for cost reductions and improved efficiencies within the process.
• To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements by
• highlighting issues to management.
• To ensure all documentation is updated, including schedules, manuals and spares
• lists.
• To strive for simplest design and quicker assembly methods, cost reductions and
• improved reliability.
• To have hands on involvement during trials and machine testing.
• Occasional worldwide travel to customers including weekend work & travel where required.
• To adhere to and always apply all workplace management and rules consistently.
• To actively participate in improvement projects as required.
Person Specification:
• Good Working knowledge of SolidWorks
• Be a problem solver with the ability to analyse a situation and provide a timely
• solution Perform design calculations for mechanical components, drives and
• structures
• Ideally HNC of equivalent in mechanical engineering
• Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, geometric tolerancing and specifications.
