The Role – Graduate Academic Mentor

As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning throughout the school. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering 1:1 and small group support to students who need academic or emotional assistance.
• Collaborating with teaching staff to plan and prepare engaging learning activities.
• Supporting the delivery of lessons and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assisting with homework clubs, revision sessions, and intervention programmes.
• Working closely with the SEN and pastoral teams to provide targeted support to vulnerable pupils.
• Acting as a positive role model and mentor, inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Who We’re Looking For – Graduate Academic Mentor

We’re looking for committed and ambitious graduates who:

• Hold a 2:1 degree or above in a core subject such as Maths, English, Science or Humanities.
• Have strong GCSE and A-Level results.
• Are passionate about working with young people and supporting their academic development.
• Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Are enthusiastic, resilient, and able to thrive in a busy and dynamic secondary school setting.
• Are considering a career in teaching and want meaningful, hands-on experience before pursuing formal training.
