Junior Sourcing Specialist/Sourcing Specialist | Newbury | Full Time – 37 hours per week | Up to £35,000 per annum

Our client specialises in Electronics and is an expert in managing all aspects of the supply chain and bringing their customers the benefits of that expertise; helping OEMs and CEMs across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America to grow their businesses for over 30 years.

They are currently seeking a Junior Sourcing Specialist/Sourcing Specialist to join their team in Newbury.

The role involves working as part of the procurement team to support the Senior Buyer (Quotes & Bids) in securing the best possible pricing, lead times, and stock availability from trusted supply partners, to win new business through customer project opportunities.

• Good IT skills
• Previous experience with RFQs (desirable)
• Previous experience of MRP (desirable)
• CIPS qualification is advantageous, or willingness to work towards

What will your role look like?

• Generate & distribute Requests for Quote (RFQs) to selected & preferred suppliers to support business development opportunities
• Upon receiving quotations from suppliers, assess cost, lead time & stock availability data using basic analysis techniques & in line with project/customer requirements
• Based on analysis undertaken, make regular & specific suggestions on the best options to the Senior Buyer (Quotes & bids) to support business development activities
• Where possible, identify, suggest and utilise components from our Group line card
• Suggest alternative components for cost savings & work with customers and colleagues to obtain required approvals for implementation
• Where necessary, communicate & challenge any gaps in customer information with Key Account Managers & Account Executives, which allows for faster & more accurate quoting to take place
• Take a flexible & proactive approach to changing customer demands at the design/quotation stage of a project
• Provide regular, accurate reports on quotation status to Senior Buyer (Quotes & Bids) to support departmental activities
• Use the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tool as needed to order stock from suppliers and meet ongoing customer demand
• Raise Early Payment Requests (EPR) promptly when required to fulfil customer requests for back-to-back purchases
• Constantly review & cleanse system data to ensure that it runs accurately & efficiently
• professionally represent the company at all times
