BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The High Needs Co-ordinator role at WCG is vital in supporting the increasing number of High Needs Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) learners across the group. This position focuses on the administration and financial claims associated with this provision across all college campuses.
As the key point of contact, the High Needs Liaison supports the Inclusion and Supported Learning teams by managing the administration of statutory duties related to EHCPs. This involves close communication with both internal curriculum and support departments, as well as external bodies like SENDAR and SEND finance. A core responsibility of this role is ensuring all costing is accurately
recorded and received.

The post holder must be confident in communicating with a variety of local authorities and external stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeping records of all learners with EHCPs, including electronic files, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Liaising directly with Local Authorities for all matters relating to EHCPs including administrative support for annual review processes, tracking changes, distribution of paperwork and the arranging of meetings.
• Administrative support for the delivery of High Needs provision including the raising of purchase orders.
• Ensuring all costing for High Needs provision is accurately recorded and received. This will involve detailed financial tracking related to individual EHCPs
• Working closely with SEND finance and potentially other relevant departments to ensure all funding claims are compliant and timely.
• Supporting the Head of Inclusion in securing local authority funding for additional learning support and High Needs learners.
• Maintaining accurate records that support the college in all its quality assurance/audit processes and funding claims in line with institutional responsibilities and departmental expectations

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

The list of duties is not exhaustive but outlines the main features of the post at appointment and may vary as the job evolves without affecting the nature of the duties or the responsibility level.

Offers of Work

For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).
