A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a young woman in my mid twenties living in Barry.

I am shy when meeting new people so don’t always communicate verbally and can be quiet, please encourage me with questions and asking me to say out loud what I want. I communicate really clearly over the phone and am very good at texting. I sometimes use symbols to aid my communication.

Some of the things I enjoy doing are going to the farm, out shopping, out in the community.

On my list of things to do is swimming so my new PA will help me achieve this, I would also like to volunteer to walk dogs in my local area.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me out in the community, encourage my independence and living skills. Also to ensure my mum knows I am safe.

HOURS OF WORK

8 hours per week, over 2 – 3 days per week.

RATE OF PAY

£14.00 per hour and 0.40p a mile.

TASKS INVOLVED

Develop independent living skills, such as learning to use the washing machine and how to do laundry
Using the bus to get about as I have a bus pass
Going out to activities of my choice
You’ll need to prompt me with basic personal care when we are out and about, remind me to use the toilet before heading off
I can take my own medication, you’ll just need to prompt and remind me.

Someone who shares similar interests
Outgoing and talkative so you can encourage me these traits in me
Experience isn’t essential, just needs to be the right person
Patient, kind and friendly
