Do you have a passion for Physiotherapy? Are you interested in Special Educational Needs? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional self-employed physiotherapist to provide a physiotherapy service for students at the Orpheus Centre, working in liaison with other therapists and multi-disciplinary colleagues.
Salary: £55 - £60 per hour dependent on experience.
Hours: Part Time - 1 day per week [5.5 hours] / 36 weeks per year (term time only)
Working available: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Work Location: The Orpheus Centre, North Park Lane, Bletchingley, Godstone, RH9 8ND
Working within a team of qualified therapists which include a speech and language therapist, an occupational therapist and assistants, you will manage a caseload of students with complex developmental or acquired neurological and learning disability needs who have physiotherapy needs identified on the EHCP.
The role will entail providing a baseline assessment of each new student’s mobility and gross motor skills and meet appropriate interventions to optimise function and independence. You will set individualised objectives and provide direct treatment as indicated by assessment to maximise and promote function and independence, including 1:1, paired and group sessions in the different environments within college and supported housing provisions.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
• BSc (Hons) or MSc in Physiotherapy from an HCPC accredited qualifying course or equivalent
• Evidence of relevant postgraduate continuing professional development in relevant area of practice
• Registered member of CSP and HCPC
• Extensive postgraduate experience as a physiotherapist, including working in an SEN environment, supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex physical needs
• Experience in supporting the EHCP process including writing annual review reports and updating objectives
• Experience of undertaking physiotherapy with young people
• Experience in providing physiotherapy support to young people with a learning disability
• Evidence of independently managing caseloads
• Involvement in developing services to meet clinical priorities
• Experience of MDT working
• Experience of providing formal/ informal training to support staff
• Experience of assessing for and providing specialist equipment for postural management
