Summary
Join Our Engineering Team as a Site-Based Fabric Technician/Painter
We're seeking a dedicated Fabric Technician/Painter to join our on-site facilities team at a high-security government location requiring Developed Vetting (DV). This static, site-based role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong building fabric maintenance skills and a deep understanding of working within secure, high-compliance environments.
You'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the site by ensuring all fabric-related maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest standard, safely and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
-Deliver planned and reactive fabric maintenance, including patch plastering, tiling, painting, door and lock repairs, and general carpentry tasks.
-Support minor plumbing and basic maintenance duties where required.
-Ensure all tasks are completed in line with health, safety, and security procedures specific to a DV-cleared environment.
-Conduct site inspections and report defects or risks related to building fabric and structure.
-Accurately complete all documentation using site-based systems.
-Collaborate closely with on-site security teams, engineering colleagues, and client representatives while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Requirements:
-Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance - essential. Candidates must already hold DV clearance or be willing to obtain to be considered.
-Solid background in fabric/building maintenance within facilities management or a similar environment.
-Skilled in a range of trades including carpentry, painting, decorating, minor plastering, and door repairs.
-Basic understanding of plumbing and general maintenance tasks.
-IT literate and confident using CAFM systems.
-Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe systems of work, including working at height and in confined spaces (training will be provided).
-Reliable, discreet, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a secure environment.
