Barton Moss Secure Care Centre ‘A truly exceptional place to work’
We are a 24 bed Secure Care Centre which is made up of 4 residential units. We care for sentenced and remanded males under the age of 18 years and are part of the national Secure Children’s Home network.
The Centre has a proven track record of offering a very high standard of emotional, educational and physical care. This supports young people to succeed in their personal and academic development and resettlement back into the community. The centre has achieved Good & Outstanding, Ofsted judgements.
It is important both the internal and external physical environment of Barton Moss are maintained to a high standard, to ensure compliance with health and safety, security and building licensing requirements.
Who we are seeking
A self-motivated, reliable, multi-skilled, proactive and organised Assistant Site Officer to join our Facilities team. The team maintain the centre over a 7 day rota, so some weekend work is included. We are looking for someone who can play a vital role in the daily running of the centre, who takes great pride in their works and pays attention to detail.
About the role
- Assistant Site Officer.
- Working hours: 36hrs / 5 shifts per week averaged over a 28 day rota.
- Shifts are between the hours of 7am 6pm.
- Grade: 2A : £25,584 - £26,409
- Secure unit allowance of £884 per annum.
- Expectation to fulfil 7 x on call shifts per rota paid @ £33.63 per shift.
- We are looking for a colleague who is committed to the welfare and safety of staff, young people and visitors to the centre at all times.
- You will work as part of a team to maintain the centre efficiently.
- You will provide a comprehensive site management service within the centre to include security, cleaning, minor maintenance, repairs and monitoring and maintaining the fabric of the building. You should be able to offer a range of DIY skills
- You will have the ability and knowledge to liaise with external contractors and agencies linked to the building.
