Your new role
Our client, a secondary school in the St Helens area, is looking for an experienced, dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching assistant to work in their Key Stage 3 on a temporary full-time basis with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.
Key duties will include but not limited to:
- Provide targeted support for students with SEN
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to encourage their engagement and independence
- Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions in line with school policy
- Help adapt lesson materials to meet students' needs
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working with children/young adults with SEN
- DBS
- Full right to work in the UK
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Proactive and flexible approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults
- Strong communication skills
