An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Contextual Safeguarding Service, as a Team Manager. The position is full time (37 hours per week) Monday - Friday, and will include regular travel across the borough of Cheshire East.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will provide oversight, support and line management to a team of family support workers who are responsible for building safety and support via trusted relationships for children and young people experiencing exploitation and harm outside their homes. You will help drive the adoption of contextual safeguarding ideas to build partnerships within the authority, communities, and agencies to create safety for young people outside of their homes.
You will work in partnership with colleagues across the service and with other agencies to ensure that young people receive timely, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed interventions and support when they need it and in a way that meets their needs and increases their safety online, in their neighbourhood, school and in other community settings.
You will be required to liaise and communicate effectively with other agencies such as the police, children's social care and schools, along with parents and carers in order to create a meaningful impact in children's lives.

ABOUT YOU
You will have:
• An understanding of the needs of children who go missing from home or care, and the harm they can come to outside the home.
• An understanding of what Contextual Safeguarding is with particular reference to child exploitation and worked within a sector that has supported children who have experienced this type of harm.
• Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals
• Experience of supervising and managing a team of people
• An ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines, responding to immediate concerns.
• A strength-based approach to working with children at risk of harm outside the home, showing resilience in your day to day work.
• A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East's rural nature
