Join our Power Commercial team as a Commercial Manager, and you’ll be at the heart of delivering complex, high-impact work that shapes the future of infrastructure. From day one, you’ll be involved in some of the biggest and most exciting projects in the industry — and this time, it’s on the breathtaking Isle of Skye.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the financial management of a major, complex project(s) or a number of projects from inception, tendering, negotiating and agreeing contracts and then commercially delivering Projects often worth many tens of millions of pounds.
  • Integral part of the project senior leadership team where they hold key responsibilities associated with the commercial and financial success of each project.
  • Experienced individuals who have risen through the ranks of the industry and their role is broad and includes anything from risk management to procurement, financial reporting and managing the supply chain.
  • Proven skills in commercial awareness, client liaison, project management and team leadership. They will also have an extensive understanding of the construction industry, flexibility and a talent for negotiation.
  • Track record of managing and developing a commercial team and be themselves a Chartered Member or Fellow of the RICS, ICES or CIOB, and a mentor/role model to other commercial staff on their journey to becoming professionally qualified.
  • There will be a specific focus on the commercial management of in-house and external design consultancy packages. Ensuring deliverables in compliance with the 132 kVA Reinforcement Project both for Overhead Line and Underground Cabling aspects of the project.
  • Providing project specific CVR, CTC and Operating Statements in line with other Commercial aspects of the Project. Collaborative working with the Senior Design managers of the Project

Who we're looking for

  • An organised, innovative and creative Senior Commercial Manager with in-
    depth knowledge and experience of working on Projects and Portfolio’s
  • Leading on collating costs and maximising value on a large project or portfolio
    of projects
  • Leading on and embedding a mindset within the team of financial and
    commercial control within a project(s)
  • Demonstration of Strategic Change Management
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of procuring and managing supply chain
  • Maintain a Personal Development Plan to ensure continuous personal and
    professional development
  • Already in possession of or working towards professional accreditation
  • Proactively develop, mentor and coach immediate and wider team members to
    ensure development of talent and succession within the team
  • Demonstration of working to deadlines including effective delegation, working
    efficiently and to a high standard
  • Excellent communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Keen interest and experience in infrastructure projects
  • Demonstration of resilience and determination to succeed (achievement focus)
  • Proactively manage opportunities, risks and threats
  • MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent level of education or experience
