Answering queries or concerns about the programme ensuring participants are fully aware and can make an informed decision. Clinically reviewing and facilitating access to screening for patients with potential barriers to screening such as those with Learning Difficulties, Mental Health Capacity Concerns, Mental health issues, working closely with relatives, carers and specialist services such as Learning Disability Liaison Teams. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and providing reassurance and support, sometimes in complex circumstances. Respond to telephone calls and monitor the Lung Cancer Screening generic inbox on a regular basis. Communicating 24-month CT scan results, including those with actionable incidental findings to patients through the dispatch of letters and telephone consultations when required. Inform patients of basic findings on their CT scan, such as emphysema, aortic valve calcification, osteoporosis or coronary artery calcification, and educate patients on healthy lifestyles as well as encouraging patients to stop smoking and provide very brief advice when required, and onward referral to local smoking cessation services when required. Conduct assessments of patients over the phone who are due a 24 month recall scan to check and confirm attendance and capacity and medical changes, since initial assessment. Supporting patients ensuring that they follow the Lung Cancer Screening pathway as per current protocols, including those that have moved outside of the area, and ensuring all patients have the same level of interventions and continued follow up when required. You will utilise clinical software systems such as EPR and Soliton and the patient administration system (PAS) in your daily work, this will include checking that patients who require a LDCT scan have not previously had a CT of the thorax and escalate to the nursing team.
