Salary: £29,267 - £31,050 per annum
Location: Wakefield College
We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior science technician to join our friendly and highly successful Sixth Form science team. Our Sixth Form has a strong academic ethos; working towards excellence for our students and helping each individual to achieve their full potential.
As a Senior Science Technician, you will work as part of an established science department, providing technical support for teaching and learning and the direct line management of science technicians within the department.
Day to day you will be responsible for monitoring heath and safety within the department and ordering equipment and supplies necessary for practical delivery. You will also be preparing materials and equipment for practical work, assisting staff with demonstrations and tidying/cleaning laboratories, and ensuring any materials are cleared away after use.
As a Senior Science Technician, you should:
Have GCSE A*- C / 9 - 4 in Maths, English and Science qualifications or equivalent
Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures
Technical ability and an interest in science
Previous experiences of working in a similar role would be advantageous.
