Summary

We are currently recruiting for 2–3 Personal Assistants to join our small, friendly team, supporting an adult in leading an independent and fulfilling life.

This is a permanent role (subject to a 6 month probationary period) offering flexible contracted hours – from approximately 16 hours up to 36.5 hours per candidate (pro rata), with additional overtime available depending on your skills, experience and availability.

Hourly rate: £13.00 per hour

Location: Shotts area

About the role You will be providing trauma informed personal, emotional and domestic assistance, enabling the person we support to live life safely and on their own terms. This includes:

Helping create a safe, predictable and calm environment
Providing emotional support with patience and compassion
Supporting personal care tasks (washing, dressing, prompting to use the toilet)
Preparing, cooking and sharing vegan meals, helping with household tasks and shopping • Going for walks, joining leisure activities (e.g. creative interests, local theatre, beach trips, trampoline coaching)
Helping with correspondence and attending appointments (doctor, dentist, hospital) We’re looking for people who can communicate clearly and kindly, are flexible and adaptable, and can offer consistent, reliable support.

Desirable:

Driver with clean licence (not essential for all posts)
Previous experience in trauma informed care or similar roles
Ability to converse in simple German vocabulary
Background in psychology
Comfortable around dogs and cats
Training and support

Training in Disability Equality, Moving and Assisting, Health & Safety, and impairment specific training (including an introduction to dissociation and DID)
Regular support team meetings and discussions
Supervision sessions with a psychologist from the CMHT
