Support Worker - £25,857 pa (37.5 hours per week)About the RoleWe currently have an opportunity for a Support Worker at our supported living service, Oxleys Road. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week).At Oxleys Road, we are dedicated to supporting adults with mental health concerns, helping them develop the skills needed to live independently and safely within the wider community. We also believe in the importance of enjoying life, so we offer activities to reduce boredom and provide entertainment for those we support.Your role will involve assisting with daily living tasks such as basic cooking, laundry, travel training, budgeting, and shopping. While you will often work independently with the individuals we support, there is usually another staff member on site. However, if you are working a late shift followed by a sleep-in, you will have access to an on-call contact for support.Working as part of a dedicated team, your role as a Support Worker is to:Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to develop and maximise their independenceThis may involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaningFollow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needsSupport their aspirations and maximise their independenceAbout YouIf you have previously worked in a care setting or health and social care field and have experience of providing support to vulnerable people, then this role could be perfect for you. We are looking for passionate people who are driven by the desire to make a difference and create a person-centered environment.You will need to be able to:Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday workingWork as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we supportBe flexible in your approach to workHave a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilitiesHave a full UK driving licence and access toa car for work purposes during the dayIt is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle for work purposes and are happy to do sleep-ins.
