We’re looking for an experienced HGV Tanker Mechanic, Vacuum Tanker Technician or HGV Fitter to join a well-established transport and logistics company in Ellistown. You’ll be working with a professional team maintaining a fleet of vacuum waste tankers and other heavy goods vehicles in a supportive and well-equipped workshop.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Tanker Mechanic / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter
• Service, inspect and repair HGV vacuum tankers to a high standard
• Diagnose faults in hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Complete compliance documentation and job cards accurately
• Operate and maintain company vehicles to legal and company standards
• Identify potential warranty or commercial opportunities and escalate as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workshop environment
• Work flexibly to support occasional weekend work or shift rotation
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Tanker Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Tanker Technician
Essential
• Proven experience servicing and maintaining HGVs or vacuum tankers
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics or plant/machinery repairs
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Good communication and basic IT skills
Desirable
• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Maintenance
• Previous experience with waste tankers or similar equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload
