Gloucestershire College is recruiting for a Lecturer in Maths in Engineering and Construction to join the Engineering department at our Gloucester and Cheltenham campuses.

About the Role
As an Lecturer in Maths in Engineering and Construction, you will be delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across Levels 3 and 4, specialising in Engineering Maths, Further Engineering Maths, and Calculus. Your teaching will support learners in developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills they need for a successful career in both mechanical and electronic engineering fields.
Whether you are already working in further education or are an industry expert looking to make a rewarding career move, we will support you with high-quality CPD and a welcoming, collaborative environment.
This is a campus-based teaching role with delivery across our Gloucester and Cheltenham sites.
What you will do:
• Deliver high-impact lessons that contextualise advanced mathematics in mechanical and electronic engineering.
• Inspire learners by linking engineering theory to real-life challenges and industry developments.
• Support students to achieve their qualifications and develop transferable skills for higher education or employment.
• Use innovative teaching strategies and emerging technology to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with an experienced team to continually improve curriculum delivery and learner outcomes.
• Actively contribute to course planning, assessment design, and internal quality assurance.
What we are looking for:
Essential:
• HND or Degree in a Maths or Engineering-related subject
• Knowledge of current engineering practices and their application in an educational setting
• GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2 in English and Maths
• A passion for teaching and a willingness to undertake Safeguarding and Equality & Diversity training
Desirable:
• Experience teaching Engineering or Advanced Construction students
• A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DTLLS, or Certificate in Education (or willingness to work towards one)
